Ao participar nesta segunda-feira, 6, de reunião do Parlasul, em Montevidéu, a senadora Eliziane Gama (Cidadania-MA) defendeu a aprovação do acordo de procedimento para regular a participação do Observatório da Democracia nas eleições gerais de outubro, as urnas eletrônicas e a adoção de medidas para a ampliação da participação das mulheres brasileira na política.
“É fundamental a presença do Mercosul no acompanhamento das eleições brasileiras porque não há dúvida nenhuma de que [o Observatório] só vai constatar a segurança da urna eletrônica e a contribuição que ela significa para a democracia”, afirmou a parlamentar.
De acordo com Eliziane Gama, a proposta de acompanhamento do processo eleitoral pelo Parlasul é importante diante dos ataques à conquista brasileira da urna eletrônica brasileira, reconhecida por vários países do mundo.
“Nós temos percebido de forma muito clara o esforço da Justiça brasileira, por meio do TSE [Tribunal Superior Eleitoral ], no sentido de promover a transparência de todos os processos em relação à urna eletrônica para o fortalecimento da democracia brasileira”, disse a senadora, que integra a Comissão de Transparência nas Eleições do TSE.
“Um dos grandes objetivos desta comissão, para além do processo de transparência, é impedir a verdadeira ameaça, uma avalanche de fake news, numa tentativa de descontruir e instabilizar a conquista brasileira da urna eletrônica que elegeu os últimos tempos bancadas no Congresso Nacional e membros do Executivo”, explicou aos membros do Parlasul.
Mais mulheres na política
Líder da Bancada Feminina do Senado, Eliziane Gama disse ainda que o Congresso Nacional está atento em relação a necessidade de ampliação da representação das mulheres brasileiras, em função da sua baixa representatividade.
A subrepresentação, segundo a senadora, precisa ser combatida com mudanças na legislação para aumentar o número de mulheres na política, como forma de assegurar vagas a mandatos femininos.
“No Brasil, as pesquisas mostram que levaremos 130 anos para termos a equiparação entre homens e mulheres no Parlamento. Para impedirmos que isso aconteça, precisamos mudar a legislação”, defendeu, ao citar os que os países que integram o Mercosul têm representação feminina maior que a do Brasil.
“Quanto mais mulheres na política, mais e melhor a qualidade da política, porque as mulheres têm uma sensibilidade muito ampla para questões centrais e caras, como a questão do valor a vida, o combate à violência e princípios humanitários. Precisamos de muito mais mulheres na política”, afirmou Eliziane Gama.
