Um grave acidente registrado na noite dessa quarta-feira, 15, no município Governador Eugênio de Barros, resultou na morte de quatro pessoas. De acordo com a Polícia Rodoviária Federal (PRF), a colisão entre uma picape e um caminhão ocorreu na altura do km 151, crescente da BR-226/MA, região centro-leste do Maranhão.

A PRF informou que o veículo Fiat/Strada Working Cd, de placas do município de Senador Alexandre Costa/MA, foi atingido de forma transversal pelo VW/19.360 Ctc 4X2, de placas do município de Porangatu/GO.

Todos os ocupantes da picape foram a óbito no local com o impacto, sendo o condutor, de 54 anos, residente em Teresina/PI, e três mulheres. O motorista do veículo de carga não se feriu.

A causa do acidente, segundo a PRF, foi acessar a via sem observar a presença dos outros veículos.
