Eredivisie, o Campeonato Holandês de Futebol

 

O Campeonato Holandês de Futebol, já largamente conhecido como Campeonato Holandês é conhecido oficialmente como Eredivisie (Divisão Honorária – tradução livre). Assim, esta é a mais importante competição de futebol dos Países Baixos. O Campeão nacional sai desta competição, que é muito forte e já contou seis vezes com o campeão da maior competição europeia de futebol, a Champions League. O Ajax foi campeão quatro vezes, o Feyenoord e PSV uma vez cada. Um dos maiores campeonatos do mundo, conta com duas grandes forças do futebol mundial, o PSV e o AJAX. 

Em relação ao Campeonato Holandês, o Ajax é também, o time com mais títulos desde a fundação da competição. Desde 1965, os clube Ajax, com 34 títulos, o PSV, com 24 e o Feyenoord, com 15 títulos, se revesam entre os campeões da principal liga neerlandesa. Neste período, apenas nas temporadas 1980/81 e 2008/2009, foram ganhas pelo AZ Alkmaar, e da temporada 2009/10, conquistada pelo Twente.
