O presidente do Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE), ministro Alexandre de Moraes, proibiu na noite deste sábado (29) a Polícia Federal (PF) e a Polícia Rodoviária Federal (PRF) de realizarem qualquer operação que afete o transporte público de eleitores neste domingo (30). Moraes disse que os diretores de ambas as corporações podem ser responsabilizados criminalmente em caso de descumprimento.
Ele também vedou a PF de apresentar resultados de operações relacionadas às eleições.
O ministro atendeu a pedido do deputado Paulo Teixeira (PT-SP), que acionou o TSE pedindo providências para que a PF e a PRF não fossem mobilizadas em favor da campanha do presidente Jair Bolsonaro, que tenta a reeleição, e em desfavor da campanha do ex-presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
O parlamentar fez o pedido alegando haver notícias de que a PRF estaria preparada para realizar operações especiais em estradas neste domingo. Ele também citou reportagem de emissora de TV sobre a abertura de investigação pelo Ministério Público para apurar suposto uso político da PRF.
Moraes justificou a decisão diante da proximidade do pleito.
“O processo eleitoral, como um dos pilares da democracia, deve ser resguardado”, afirmou o ministro. Acrescentouque cabe ao TSE “fiscalizar a lisura dos procedimentos de maneira que não se altere a paridade nas eleições” .
Antes de conceder a liminar (decisão provisória), o presidente do TSE havia dado quatro horas para que a PRF e a PF prestassem informações sobre operações especiais no dia da eleição.
Ele considerou, contudo, que as informações “não foram suficientes a refutar as notícias amplamente divulgadas, não havendo, até o momento, indicação sobre as razões que justificam as operações específicas implementadas no segundo turno das eleições, exceto a de coibir a compra de voto”.
