Atendimentos de saúde, informação sobre direitos e prevenção à violência são o foco das ações da Carreta da Mulher. Nesta etapa, o serviço itinerante irá percorrer oito cidades, incluindo a capital. A atuação da carreta tem um amplo alcance do público alvo. De janeiro a setembro deste ano, já foram cerca de 60 mil atendimentos ofertados a mais de 10 mil mulheres maranhenses em mais de 30 municípios. As atividades desta etapa prosseguem até o dia 27 deste mês, sempre das 8h às 16h.
A Carreta da Mulher presta atenção especial às mulheres mais vulneráveis, que estão na zona rural, e que, por vezes, deixam de priorizar a saúde, por conta da rotina de atividades.
Nesta etapa, as cidades que serão contempladas pelos serviços da Carreta da Mulher são Turiaçu, Nova Olinda do Maranhão, Caxias, São Roberto, Barra do Corda, São José de Ribamar, Paço do Lumiar e São Luís. A expectativa é que, durante a ação, sejam atendidas mais de 300 mulheres por dia.
Serão ofertados consultas e exames em mamografia, preventivos, testes rápidos de glicemia e aferição de pressão. Além destes, ações de combate à violência contra a mulher, por meio de palestras e debates.
