O Vasco procura um goleiro para seguir a temporada de 2023, que promete ser vitoriosa, ou ao menos, não ser vexatória, como tem sido a gangorra do Vasco. Para tal, o clube procura um nome para uma titularidade absoluta. Não há dúvidas que o Vasco quer contar com Thiago Rodrigues para a temporada, mas provavelmente ele não será absoluto na posição.

Como já noticiamos, o clube já fez proposta para Keiller, goleiro do Internacional, xodó de Paulo Bracks. O Vasco tem também um plano B, no caso, Marcelo Grohe. O ex-Gremista, que Bracks também conhece bem, está com 35 anos e joga na Arábia Saudita.

Principal jogador da Coreia do Sul, que estreia na Copa do Mundo 2022 nesta quinta-feira (24), às 10h (de Brasília), contra o Uruguai, o atacante Son deve entrar em campo no Qatar usando uma máscara.

O jogador do Tottenham virou dúvida para o Mundial quando sofreu uma lesão no rosto em 1º de novembro, em uma partida da Liga dos Campeões. Son fraturou quatro ossos próximos ao olho e recorreu a uma tecnologia desenvolvida por brasileiros. O acessório que ele está usando nos treinos em Doha e deve colocar nas partidas é muito semelhante ao item de proteção usado por Thiago Rodrigues, goleiro do Vasco.

Em contato com a reportagem, o vascaíno, que tem o apelido de “Batman da Colina”, disse que a máscara não o atrapalha. Ele afirma que é adaptado ao acessório, mesmo atuando em uma posição que exige reflexo e boa visão como a do goleiro. Ele até citou o caso do sul-coreano para explicar a tecnologia do material que utiliza.

“A máscara não atrapalha a visão de forma alguma. Ela foi desenvolvida justamente para atender às questões de visão ampla, de visão periférica. Ou seja, ela é vazada ao lado, acima dos olhos. Então eu tenho total visão de campo, ao lado, à frente, acima, abaixo. Ela foi desenvolvida com fibra de carbono. É o mesmo material que o pessoal da Europa usa. No Barcelona, no Tottenham. Inclusive, ele [Son] está usando essa mesma máscara, com a mesma fibra”, disse o goleiro do Vasco.

Thiago conquistou o acesso à elite do futebol nacional com o Vasco na última temporada. Ele passou 15 jogos sem ser vazado na segunda divisão e teve atuação decisiva contra o ituano, na partida que garantiu o retorno à Série A.

À reportagem, o goleiro disse que usa a máscara há mais de um ano. Por causa da pancada que sofreu no rosto em março de 2021, quando defendia o CSA, ele usará o item até o final carreira — Thiago Rodrigues está com 34 anos. Depois do choque, ele teve fratura de ossos da testa, órbita e nariz.

“Desde o começo, [adaptação] foi muito fácil. O material ajuda, ela gruda no rosto como se fosse uma luva, você nem sente que ela está ali. Foi um processo muito simples, de fácil adaptação”, afirmou.

Hoje, acostumado a usar a máscara, o “Batman da Colina”, como ficou conhecido o goleiro em São Januário, trata o acessório como um item indispensável ao seu dia a dia. Para ele, vestir a proteção no rosto se equipara aos processos de colocar caneleiras, luvas e chuteiras.

“Ela é feita para proteger. No meu caso, tem sido usada neste sentido, assim como caneleira, chuteira e luvas. É a extensão do meu corpo enquanto atleta. Nem é questão de [dar mais] confiança. Ela faz parte da minha profissão, do meu trabalho. Um goleiro precisa ser corajoso, eu sou, tenho esse ímpeto. Ela é parte do meu fardamento, da minha vida como profissional.”
