O Campeonato Alagoano de 2022 será diferente dos demais. A Federação Alagoana de Futebol divulgou a tabela oficial do Campeonato Alagoano 2022 (como pode ser vista ao final deste artigo). Não haverá disputa de rebaixamento e apenas o último colocado baixará de divisão e não mais dois deles.

A abertura aconteceu no dia 19/01 e a última rodada da primeira fase será no final de Março. O CSA começa o campeonato contra o Desportivo Aliança, e é o clube a ser batido, defendendo o título. Já o CRB recebe o Murici, que o derrotou na atual temporada.

No arbitral realizado no início de novembro, os dirigentes decidiram manter a fórmula de disputa do estadual. O campeonato terá mais uma vez um turno único na fase de classificação, semifinal e decisão.
De acordo com o regulamento, a equipe com menor pontuação na primeira fase será rebaixada. Em 2022, o Jaciobá caiu, e o Coruripe, campeão da Segunda Divisão do ano passado, é a novidade na elite.
Os clubes podem contratar jogadores até o fim da primeira fase, a sétima rodada, e os cartões serão zerados quando começar a semifinal.
Neste ano, a semifinal será disputada num cruzamento olímpico: o quarto encara o primeiro colocado, o segundo joga contra o terceiro, em jogos de mata-mata. Quem passar das semifinais, confirma vaga nas finais, também em partidas de mata-mata.
