Investir em infraestrutura viária é investir na segurança dos usuários da via
A segurança no trânsito é uma preocupação constante, pois sinistros rodoviários representam uma das principais causas de mortes em todo o mundo. Uma parte significativa dessa segurança está diretamente ligada à infraestrutura viária, ou seja, ao design das estradas, à sinalização e à iluminação adequada. Isso interfere, também, diretamente na economia e desenvolvimento do país. Conforme o Mapa Estratégico da Indústria 2018-2022, o Brasil é um dos países com maior dependência de modal rodoviário para transporte de cargas – 61% do que é movimentado no país depende desse modal; descontando a movimentação de minérios e petróleo, 86% do total.
Ou seja: as estradas brasileiras são fundamentais em todos os sentidos e uma sinalização adequada desempenha papel de destaque na orientação dos motoristas e na prevenção de sinistros. A falta de sinalização ou a sinalização inadequada podem levar a situações perigosas. Segundo a pesquisa CNT de Rodovias, 48,1% da extensão total de rodovias no país é considerada regular, ruim ou péssima quando se trata de sinalização. Pouco mais da metade (51,9%), ótima ou boa. Com relação à sinalização horizontal, a faixa central é inexistente em 6,6% da extensão das rodovias brasileiras e as faixas laterais são inexistentes em 11,5%.
Vale lembrar que a sinalização de vias e rodovias é composta por sinalizações verticais e horizontais. A vertical refere-se a placas e sinais de trânsito, geralmente fixados em postes ou suportes. É usada para transmitir informações, advertências, regulamentações e orientações aos condutores, como as placas de pare e de velocidade permitida, entre outras. Já a sinalização horizontal é o conjunto de marcações no pavimento, como faixas e símbolos pintados no asfalto. Ela é usada para indicar as áreas da estrada onde os veículos devem trafegar, podem ou não ultrapassar, a faixa de pedestres etc. Ou seja, são essenciais para uma convivência pacífica e harmoniosa.
Para mudar esse cenário, algumas medidas e investimentos são necessários. Conforme os Manuais Brasileiros de Sinalização do Trânsito, do Contran, melhorias nesse quesito incluem sinalização clara e visível, pois sinais de trânsito devem ser bem posicionados, de fácil leitura e bem iluminados à noite. Além disso, é importante o uso de sinalização avançada – sinais de alerta antecipados para curvas acentuadas, áreas de travessia de pedestres e interseções -, fornecendo aos condutores tempo suficiente para reação. Ainda, a sinalização dinâmica, com emprego de tecnologia para ajustar a sinalização em tempo real com base em condições de tráfego e climáticas, aumentando a eficácia da sinalização.
Iluminação Adequada – A iluminação das estradas também desempenha papel primordial na segurança, especialmente durante a noite e em condições climáticas adversas. Melhorar a iluminação envolve iluminar uniformemente as estradas para evitar áreas de sombra que possam surpreender os motoristas, bem como usar iluminação adaptativa, que aumente a intensidade das luzes em áreas de maior tráfego e reduza a intensidade onde a visibilidade é clara.
Conforme o especialista em trânsito e diretor da Perkons, Luiz Gustavo Campos, “investir em infraestrutura viária é investir na segurança de todos os usuários das estradas. O planejamento das estradas, com design e intervenções urbanas bem pensadas, sinalização eficaz e iluminação adequada podem reduzir significativamente a probabilidade de sinistros e salvar muitas vidas. Portanto, é fundamental que governos, autoridades de trânsito e engenheiros de tráfego colaborem para implementar essas melhorias em todo o sistema viário, tornando as estradas do país mais seguras para todos”, completa.
