Construção da Barragem Maria Rita promoverá desenvolvimento para a Baixada Maranhense – MARANHÃO Hoje

Será importante corredor para escoar produção 

Foi assinada neste domingo (12), a ordem de serviço que autoriza a construção da Barragem de Maria Rita, entre Bequimão e São Bento, na Baixada Maranhense. A obra vai ser executada pela Secretaria de Estado da Infraestrutura (Sinfra-MA) e já é considerada um importante corredor para escoamento de riquezas produzidas nas cidades da região da Baixada Maranhense.

Com 16 quilômetros de extensão, a Barragem Maria Rita foi projetada com a finalidade de evitar a salinização das áreas inundadas típicas da região e promover a reserva de água doce, possibilitando o desenvolvimento das atividades da pesca, agricultura e pecuária, beneficiando, diretamente, os municípios de Bequimão, Alcântara, São Bento, Peri-Mirim, Bacurituba e Palmeirândia, situados na Baixada Maranhense, mais precisamente na Região dos Lagos.

A obra será executada em terra com extravasores para controle do nível d’água e uma crista projetada para possibilitar o tráfego de veículos. Além da construção da barragem, também serão melhorados cerca de 11 quilômetros da estrada que vai ligar Maria Rita até MA-106, isto é, a obra vai possibilitar a ligação do município de São Bento, que fica às margens da MA-014, até a MA-106, tornando-se um importante corredor para escoamento de riquezas produzidas nas cidades da Região dos Lagos.

“Um sonho de mais de 40 anos se tornando realidade com assinatura dessa ordem de serviço pelo governador Carlos Brandão, autorizando a construção da Rota dos Campos e Lagos, entre os municípios de Bequimão e São Bento. A obra será executada pela Sinfra e inclui a Barragem de Maria Rita e mais 27 km de estrada. A grande obra estruturante, além de fortalecer o turismo, vai promover o desenvolvimento da atividade econômica nos municípios de toda a região, dentre eles Bequimão, São Bento, Alcântara, Bacurituba, Palmeirândia e Peri-Mirim”, destacou o secretário Aparício Bandeira.

A cerimônia de assinatura da ordem de serviço aconteceu no município de Bequimão e reuniu secretários de estado, prefeitos, lideranças locais, membros do governo e população em geral.
