Cessar-fogo é a única maneira de evacuar civis que estão perto do hospital Al Shifa
Os intensos e incessantes combates e bombardeios na cidade de Gaza continuam impedindo que milhares de pessoas deixem a área em segurança. Nos últimos seis dias, Médicos Sem Fronteiras (MSF) tem tentado evacuar alguns de seus profissionais e suas famílias – 137 pessoas, 65 delas crianças – atualmente presos dentro das instalações de MSF localizadas perto do hospital Al Shifa.
Estamos pedindo urgentemente um cessar-fogo, que é a única maneira de implementar corredores para evacuar com segurança milhares de civis, incluindo a equipe de MSF e seus familiares.
Desde o último sábado, a equipe de MSF e suas famílias não têm podido sair de casa por causa dos constantes combates. Na terça-feira, 14 de novembro, tiros foram disparados contra a casa onde vivem os profissionais de MSF, felizmente sem causar vítimas.
“Nesta quinta-feira (16), o prédio do escritório foi atingido por estilhaços, e o tanque de água da casa de MSF foi bombardeado, e na sexta-feira (17), nossa equipe relatou que combates de alta intensidade chegaram muito perto. Milhares de civis encurralados em hospitais e em outros locais na cidade de Gaza sofrem atualmente o mesmo destino e correm o risco de morrer nos próximos dias, senão horas”.
“Nossos colegas ouvem os sons constantes de tiros, bombardeios e drones. Podemos ouvir isso quando falamos com eles ao telefone. A rota de evacuação para o sul de Gaza continua insegura”, diz Ann Taylor, coordenadora-geral de MSF nos Territórios Palestinos Ocupados.
“Eles estão aterrorizados, a comida acabou há vários dias, e as crianças começaram a ficar doentes por beberem água salgada”, concluiu.
