Paulino Neto destaca estabilidade social e econômica do país africano 

Um país que mantém estabilidade econômica e social numa região em que o conflito é um dado quase permanente. Uma nação que se situa entre o primeiro e o segundo maior destino de exportações brasileiras para a África. Um governo essencial para que o Brasil conseguisse repatriar 117 brasileiros-palestinos que estavam na Faixa de Gaza.

E um território fértil para novas parcerias, em especial no setor agropecuário.

Assim o embaixador Paulino Franco de Carvalho Neto define o Egito, país em que o presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva tem uma série de agendas oficiais nesta quinta-feira, 15/2. “Essa visita se enquadra num marco importante, afinal são cem anos de relações diplomáticas ininterruptas”, lembrou o embaixador brasileiro no Cairo.

Na visita de Estado oficial do presidente Lula está prevista uma reunião com o presidente egípcio, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, assinaturas de atos bilaterais, almoço oficial e declaração à imprensa. O presidente Lula também visitará a sede da Liga dos Estados Árabes, no Cairo.

Em 2023, o comércio bilateral entre os países chegou a US＄ 2,8 bilhões (sendo US＄ 489 milhões em produtos egípcios importados pelo Brasil e US＄ 1,83 bilhão em produtos brasileiros exportados).

Na África, o Egito ficou atrás apenas da Argélia nas relações comerciais com o Brasil, com US＄ 4,2 bilhões. O país africano também se tornou integrante do BRICS em 2024 e participará do G20 a convite do governo brasileiro, que preside o bloco até dezembro.

“Há muito interesse aqui no Egito em tentar repetir, na medida das circunstâncias e possibilidades daqui, a experiência exitosa que tivemos com a Embrapa há 40 anos, quando conseguimos gradualmente tornar a agricultura brasileira uma potência”, afirmou o embaixador brasileiro.

O comércio entre as nações tende a aumentar nos próximos anos, após a abertura do mercado egípcio a diversos produtos brasileiros em 2023, como peixes e derivados, carne de aves, algodão, bananas e gelatina e colágeno.

A expectativa é de que o governo egípcio aprove em breve novos abatedouros e frigoríficos no Brasil para exportação de carne bovina. Também será discutida a abertura de uma rota aérea entre os dois países, ligando São Paulo ao Cairo.

Moderação – O embaixador também enfatizou o papel estratégico do Egito no contexto geopolítico, por ter uma diplomacia ativa e estar numa região em que os conflitos são quase que permanentes.

“O Egito, a exemplo do Brasil, tem um papel moderador, um papel de equilíbrio em busca de soluções pacíficas para os conflitos aqui da região, especialmente agora no conflito entre Israel e Hamas. É importante ressaltar que o Egito teve papel fundamental de apoio à evacuação de cidadãos brasileiros que estavam na Faixa de Gaza. Sem o Egito, nós não teríamos conseguido agir da maneira que nós agimos, com êxito”, explicou.
