Santos, SP, 21 (AFI) – Após ter o pedido de Habeas Corpus negado pelo juiz Luiz Fux, do Supremo Tribunal Federal, o ex-jogador Robinho foi preso nesta quinta-feira, em Santos. Ele foi condenado em todas as instâncias na Itália. para cumprir nove anos de cadeia, pelo estupro de uma mulher em 2013.
Na última quarta-feira, a Corte Especial do Superior Tribunal de Justiça (STJ) decidiu nque Robinho deve cumprir pena no Brasil. O jogador foi condenado pela Justiça da Itália, entretanto, o atleta nunca foi preso, pois deixou o país antes da condenação final. Ele alega inocência.
Após a decisão a favor da homologação, a maioria dos ministros decidiu que a execução da pena seja imediata e em regime fechado. A defesa de Robinho tentou recorrer ainda ao STJ e, depois, ao Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), mas ambos os pedidos foram negados.
ENTENDA O CASO
Robinho foi condenado na Itália pelo estupro de uma mulher albanesa em 2013. A decisão em terceira e última instância da justiça italiana, que determinou que o jogador cumpra nove anos de prisão, ocorreu em janeiro de 2022, quando o atacante já estava no Brasil.
O Ministério de Justiça da Itália solicitou a extradição de Robinho no final de 2022, mas o pedido foi negado porque o governo do País não extradita cidadãos brasileiros.
Com isso, a Justiça italiana requereu uma homologação de sentença, ou seja, pediu que a decisão ocorrida na Itália pudesse ter efeitos no Brasil. Vale ressaltar que o STJ não realizou novo julgamento sobre o caso ocorrido em 2013 ou discutiu a decisão tomada pelos italianos.
