São Paulo, SP, 10 (AFI) – A final da Copa Sul-Americana deste ano será em Assunção. A Conmebol divulgou a sede para a decisão do torneio nesta quarta-feira. Além da capital do Paraguai, a cidade de Santa Cruz de la Sierra, na Bolívia, foi anunciada como sede para a final da edição de 2025.
Os estádios que receberão as partidas, contudo, ainda não foram definidos, assim como para a final da Libertadores deste ano, que será em Buenos Aires. É a segunda vez que a final será em Assunção desde 2019, quando foi definido o sistema de jogo único na decisão. Naquele ano, o Independiente del Valle bateu o Colón por 3 a 1 no estádio General Pablo Rojas, do Cerro Porteño.
Desde então, Córdoba (duas vezes), Montevidéu e Maldonado, no Uruguai, receberam as finais do torneio. O Brasil teve representantes em três das cinco finais: Athletico-PR e Red Bull Bragantino, em 2021, São Paulo, em 2022, e Fortaleza, em 2023. Apenas o time paranaense conseguiu o título, o segundo na sua história.
Atualmente, a Sul-Americana está na fase de grupos, com 32 equipes. Os representantes brasileiros são Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Internacional, Fortaleza, Cuiabá e Red Bull Bragantino.

Já em 2025, o centenário da Federação Boliviana de Futebol será celebrado com a final no país. A Conmebol destacou a Bolívia como sede de jogos na Copa América de 1997.
