Margarida Antunes Chagas, psicóloga, afirmou que o tema é bastante polêmico e divide opiniões. “Não digo que sim nem não”. “Eu entendo que é uma forma de afeto, mas, na minha opinião, o selinho é desnecessário”, disse a profissional. De acordo com a psicóloga, tudo vai depender da idade da criança. Ela falou que acredita ser uma forma de demostrar carinho, porém acha o selinho desnecessário, pois existem outras maneiras como o abraço e o beijo.
Margarida disse ainda que crianças muito pequenas podem não perceber o selinho como algo íntimo. Porém, a partir de uma certa idade, os pequenos entendem o gesto como algo ligado ao amor romântico.
Conforme a especialista Betty Monteiro, esse tipo de situação deve ser evitado ao máximo, pois pode haver uma erotização da criança. Além disso, a especialista afirmou que esse comportamento pode trazer problemas ao desenvolvimento da criança.
