Objetivo é preservar os modos de produção 

A tradição e a excelência da produção de farinha d’água no Maranhão serão celebradas na 1ª Feira Maranhense da Agricultura Familiar, que ocorrerá nos dias 07, 08 e 09 de dezembro, na Lagoa da Jansen, em São Luís. Em meio à diversidade de produtos e práticas sustentáveis, a Secretaria de Estado da Agricultura Familiar (SAF) promoverá o 1º Concurso da Melhor Farinha D’Água do Maranhão, incentivando a preservação das técnicas tradicionais de fabricação artesanal do produto.

O Maranhão, quarto maior produtor de farinha de mandioca do Brasil, desempenha um papel significativo no consumo nacional, absorvendo 18% da produção do país. O concurso, que visa valorizar a tradição e a cultura gastronômica local, receberá inscrições gratuitas até o dia 1º de dezembro. Os interessados podem se cadastrar digitalmente por meio do formulário disponível AQUI:

Com o intuito de reconhecer e premiar as melhores produções, um corpo de jurados composto por especialistas renomados nas áreas de agronomia, gastronomia, cultura popular e órgãos estaduais especializados avaliará as farinhas concorrentes. Os prêmios incluem valores em dinheiro e troféus para os três primeiros colocados, totalizando R$ 10 mil, R$ 5 mil e R$ 3 mil, respectivamente.

Podem participar do concurso pessoas físicas, como agricultores e agricultoras familiares, assentados da reforma agrária, povos e comunidades tradicionais, quebradeiras de coco e quilombolas. A participação está aberta a pessoas jurídicas com CNPJ ativo, devidamente relacionado às atividades da Agricultura Familiar, desde que possuam cadastro no portal do Sistema de Informação Regional Familiar no Nordeste (SIRAF/NE).

Para o secretário da SAF, Bira do Pindaré, a iniciativa busca não apenas destacar a produção de qualidade, mas também promover o intercâmbio de conhecimentos e fortalecer os laços entre os diversos agentes envolvidos na agricultura familiar do Maranhão.

“É importante participar deste evento que celebra a riqueza da agricultura familiar maranhense e promove a preservação das tradições que tornam a farinha d’água do estado única e especial.
