O Centro de Lançamento de Alcântara (CLA) realizou o lançamento, no domingo (23), do veículo suborbital VSB-30, a partir da Plataforma Suborbital de Microgravidade (PSM), que foi desenvolvida pelo Instituto de Aeronáutica e Espaço (IAE). O projeto faz parte da Operação Santa Branca.
Com produção brasileira e carga útil 100% nacional, o VSB-30 é um foguete da família sonda, que possuiu estágios à propulsão sólida, estabilizado rotacionalmente e com capacidade de transportar cargas de até 400 kg, em altitudes na faixa de 270 km. Neste lançamento, o foguete levou a bordo o experimento científico “Forno Multiusuários”, desenvolvido pelo Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE).
Lançamento VSB-30
O lançamento do foguete ocorreu às 14h20 e atingiu o apogeu com 4 minutos e 1 segundo, já com altitude de 227 km, totalizando um voo de 7 minutos e 44 segundos. A carga útil caiu a 185 quilômetros da costa e militares especializados neste tipo de missão, a bordo de helicópteros da FAB, fizeram o resgate da carga.
“A Operação Santa Branca se concretizou com sucesso. Houve uma grande preparação com as equipes do Instituto de Aeronáutica e Espaço e da Empresa ORBITAL, que fizeram a PSM, um experimento que estamos em processo de homologação. Foram meses de preparação para esse momento e, para nós do CLA, é uma sensação de dever cumprido. Agora temos todos os dados necessários para apresentar às empresas lançadoras”, relatou o Diretor do CLA, Coronel Engenheiro Fernando Benitez Leal.
Segurança da Operação
A fim de garantir o total sucesso da Operação Santa Branca, diversas medidas de segurança foram tomadas. Para a população que mora na região do CLA, a FAB emitiu comunicados alertando toda a população. Além disso, pescadores e ribeirinhos foram orientados quanto a pesca no local. O mesmo cuidado foi feito com relação ao espaço aéreo, que estava bloqueado para voos na região.
De acordo com o Tenente-Coronel Engenheiro Rogério Moreira Cazo, a segurança é o item fundamental para o sucesso da operação. Na questão orgânica, o Grupo de Segurança e Defesa (GSD) fez toda a escolta do foguete até chegar à área de integração do veículo. “Fizemos toda vigilância de área, com o controle de acesso e de imagens. Fizemos um trabalho perimetral com a colocação de barreiras que pudessem garantir a total segurança de todas as pessoas”, explicou o Oficial.
Já com relação à segurança do lançamento, o cuidado foi criterioso, principalmente pelo fato de, aproximadamente, 95% da carga ser composta por combustível. Nessa questão, o Tenente-Coronel Moreira relatou que o foguete do Programa Espacial Brasileiro trabalha com combustível sólido, assim, para evitar incidentes, foram realizados testes de descargas eletrostáticas e o isolamento total da aérea de lançamento. “Fizemos o monitoramento de todas as questões possíveis que poderiam ocorrer e eliminamos todas elas. Além disso, nos resguardamos para que qualquer situação fosse resolvida e sanada. Com todos esses cuidados, atingimos o nosso objetivo e a missão foi um sucesso”, concluiu.
