Um homem acusado de matar a ex-companheira a facadas foi condenado a 24 anos de prisão. O crime ocorreu no dia 14 de dezembro de 2021, no município de Vitória do Mearim – distante 176 km de São Luís, e teve como vítima Maria Lúcia Silva dos Santos.

A sessão do Tribunal do Júri realizada nessa quarta-feira, 26, em Viória do Mearim, presidida pela juíza titular Urbanete de Angiolis, apresentou como réu Edmilson Gomes, vulgo ‘Ceará’, que foi considerado culpado pelo conselho de sentença e cumprirá a pena, inicialmente, em regime fechado.

De acordo com a denúncia, ‘Ceará’ não aceitava o fim da relação. No dia do crime, por volta das 4 horas da manhã, a vítima chegou sozinha em uma motocicleta na Colônia de Pescadores de Vitória do Mearim, onde várias pessoas se concentravam com o objetivo de realizar o recadastramento do seguro para a categoria.

Perto de amanhecer, o denunciado chegou à colônia para falar com Maria Lúcia, utilizando recurso que impossibilitou a defesa da vítima, a golpeou com várias facadas. Ela foi socorrida por populares e levada ao hospital, mas não resistiu aos ferimentos.

Após o feminicídio, Ceará fugiu de bicicleta, e só foi preso dias depois. Revoltados com o crime, populares ainda atearam fogo no bar do suspeito.

Em depoimentos, algumas testemunhas afirmaram que Edmilson e Maria Lúcia mantiveram, durante um tempo, um relacionamento extraconjugal. Contudo, após o marido da vítima falecer, ela teria decidido colocar um fim ao relacionamento. Após o término, o acusado passou a ameaçar a mulher de morte, até consumar o fato.

Preso no Piauí

Após o crime, Ceará fugiu do estado, e foi preso no dia 13 de janeiro deste ano, no bairro São Francisco, em Cocal, município da região Norte do Piauí, por meio de uma operação integrada entre a Superintendência Estadual de Investigações Criminais (SEIC) da Polícia Civil do Maranhão e a Delegacia de Polícia Civil de Cocal.

Após a prisão, Edmilson foi encaminhado para a Central de Flagrantes de Parnaíba, para os procedimentos que culminaram no recambiamento a uma unidade prisional maranhense.
