Um paciente com necessidade especial que aguardava no Hospital Dr. Odorico Amaral de Matos, o Hospital da Criança, a transferência para um leito de Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI) foi transferido para o Hospital Dr. Carlos Macieira, em São Luís.

Entretanto, muitas crianças ainda aguardam serem transferidas para uma unidade hospitalar. O drama para conseguir um leito é diário e as famílias sofrem com a falta de assistência.
Maria Josileide, mãe do pequeno Kelven, de 11 anos, tem uma solicitação com uma data provável para uma internação nesse domingo (5) no Hospital Materno Infantil. Mas, a família soube hoje, que ele não vai conseguir ser transferido.
A criança faz tratamento no hospital e todo o mês, precisa de uma internação. Antes, ele veio para o Hospital da Criança com insuficiência respiratória e precisava de uma transferência. O menino tem imunodeficiência entre outros problemas de saúde.
“O meu filho tem a guia de internação para segunda-feira no Materno, ele falou para mim que essa guia não vale, que não tem como meu filho sair daqui. Meu filho está no hospital e aqui vai ficar eu disse ‘se meu filho vir a óbito, o que vão fazer?’. Para ele tanto faz”, disse a mãe.
Alana Barros, mãe do Ayslann, de um ano, ainda aguarda por um leito de UTI. Ele está internado no Hospital da Criança com pneumonia, crises convulsivas e síndrome de fabry (doença rara que provoca um acúmulo de gordura nos vasos sanguíneos).

Jasmin, de sete meses, sofre enquanto luta sem os recursos necessários contra os efeitos de uma pneumonia e infecção hospitalar. A menina tem problemas neurológicos e se alimenta por sonda. Já o pequeno Talles Pietro, de sete anos, não aguenta mais esperar por uma cirurgia. A espera já se arrasta por três meses.
“Minha filha além de contrair a bactéria, devido as drogas pesadas, minha filha ficou com problema de coração. Porque o coração não está conseguindo bombear sangue para as correntes sanguíneas, a minha filha tá muito difícil a situação. Cada dia ela continua mais inchada. A gente não está tendo resposta, o que a gente almeja é leito para os nossos filhos”, disse.
A Defensoria Pública do Maranhão (DPE) acompanha os casos ainda sem respostas. Em entrevista ao JM1, na segunda-feira (30), o secretário Municipal de São Luís, Joel Nunes, disse que nessa época cresce a procura por atendimento de doenças respiratórias.
Em nota, a Secretaria de Estadual de Saúde (SES) informou que a rede possui 36 leitos de UTI pediátricos e 96 de enfermaria e que orienta os municípios a solicitarem transferências pela central de regulação.

A obra de ampliação do Hospital da Criança continua suspensa desde 15 de fevereiro. O serviço foi assumido pelo Governo do Estado em cooperação com o Município de São Luís, em 2018. A Secretaria de Estado da Infraestrutura (SINFRA) diz que mesmo com os serviços regulares, recebeu um ofício da Semus informando que a Prefeitura de São Luís reassumiria o trabalho.
O hospital recebe uma demanda de pacientes da capital e do interior do estado. Além das denúncias de falta de leitos e tratamento adequado, as famílias dos pacientes reclamam da demora no atendimento de urgência.
Em nota, a Secretaria Municipal de Saúde (Semus) disse que todas as solicitações já foram feitas pelo Hospital da Criança, através da Central de Regulação de Leitos do Estado do Maranhão, mas depende da liberação pelos hospitais de destin
Segundo a Semus, todas as crianças mostradas continuam aguardando a transferência e recebendo o devido acompanhamento da equipe médica.
