Campinas, SP, 14 – Um estudo promovido pelo Grupo Allianz, em parceria com o Comitê Olímpico Internacional (COI), trouxe dados importantes sobre o envolvimento da juventude com a prática esportiva. A pesquisa ouviu 5 mil jovens entre 12 e 24 anos e 2 mil pais, em dez países: Brasil, Austrália, França, Alemanha, Indonésia, Itália, Nigéria, Espanha, Suíça e Estados Unidos.
De acordo com a pesquisa, 72% dos jovens entendem ser importante a participação esportiva e 90% dos entrevistados dizem que praticar esportes melhora a saúde física. No entanto, o tempo gasto pelos jovens nessas atividades é considerado baixo. Somente 20% das pessoas ouvidas são fisicamente ativas por cinco ou mais horas por semana. O estudo afirma que 82% dos jovens entrevistados fazem alguma atividades físicas, 66% praticam esporte e 61% assistem esportes na televisão.
Na pesquisa, os jovens apontaram quatro principais motivos para não praticarem esportes por mais tempo ao longo da semana. A carga horária divida com outras obrigações é colocada como o maior empecilho para ampliar o tempo de atividade física esportiva.
“O mais importante é mostrar ao jovem que o sedentarismo é a maior causa de mortalidade na vida adulta. A juventude precisa entender que se manter ativo é uma poupança para uma vida adulta saudável. A gente tem visto cada vez menos campinhos de futebol, áreas de lazer… Essa consciência tem de ser coletiva para alcançar a juventude”, diz Fabrício Buzatto, médico do esporte e fisiatra.
Outro situação apontado pelos entrevistados diz respeito à realização de atividades sozinho ou na companhia de desconhecidos. Os jovens preferem praticar esportes com pessoas do seu convívio. O custo de vida também é lembrado como um desafio por 37% dos entrevistados. Apesar de a pandemia da covid-19 ter se encerrado em maio de 2023 com a queda no número de casos, ela é citada por 34% dos jovens como uma preocupação constante que impede a prática esportiva com maior frequência.
“A pandemia foi um divisor de águas no comportamento da população. As restrições e adesão a telas e práticas não esportivas foi muito grande pelo bloqueio de contato. O poder público precisa se engajar para explorar mais opções de lazer, competições, praças públicas, principalmente onde a oferta de lazer é muito baixa”, complementa Buzatto.
“O esporte é um grande elemento de melhoria na vida de qualquer pessoa, de qualquer idade. As marcas e principalmente as instituições ligadas ao esporte precisam se envolver cada vez mais com projetos que colaborem para que as pessoas cuidem do seu corpo, pois, assim, estarão automaticamente cuidando da mente e da alma delas”, afirma Renê Salviano, CEO da Heatmap e especialista em marketing esportivo.
Entre os entrevistados, a diversão foi apontada por 56% como o primeiro motivo para praticar esportes. Depois são citadas: melhorar a saúde física (54%), estar em forma (50%), ficar com mais energia (47%) e melhorar a saúde mental (47%). Quem pratica esporte se sente mais contente e autoconfiante e ainda relata evolução na performance escolar.
“Criar cultura é uma tarefa que precisa de apoio coletivo e movimento em massa constante. Só assim o cenário poderá sofrer uma mudança significativa, haja vista os números que demonstram que, uma vez estimuladas e identificadas as preferências e as individualidades, os jovens topam praticar esporte. Os ganhos com saúde, bem estar e o aumento da probabilidade de termos cidadãos mais conscientes em todos os aspectos da vida, seguramente causaram um efeito rebote positivo em diversos aspectos de comportamento da sociedade”, afirma Reginaldo Diniz, CEO e sócio-fundador da End to End, empresa de soluções e engajamento para o mercado esportivo.
A pesquisa traz um recorte que demonstra que a percepção da importância da prática esportiva é maior entre homens (77%) do que entre mulheres (67%) e que essa noção decai com a idade: 12 a 15 anos (75%), 16 a 19 anos (71%) e 20 a 24 anos (70%).
