O professor de Relações Internacionais do Centro Universitário de Brasília (CEUB), Luciano Muñoz detalha as origens do conflito e a escalada de violência.
Apesar dos protestos contra tentativas de reduzir o poder do Judiciário em Israel, segundo o especialista, as divisões internas tendem a ser temporariamente suspensas, à medida que a população se une contra as ameaças do Hamas.
De acordo com Munoz, o conflito remonta a 1948, quando as nações árabes vizinhas invadiram o recém-declarado estado de Israel. A história da região também é marcada pelos Acordos de Oslo de 1993.
“Esses acordos foram destinados a estabelecer a paz entre Israel e Palestina e a criar um estado palestino. Eles levaram ao reconhecimento da OLP como parceiro legítimo para negociações internacionais”. No entanto, em 2006, uma divisão interna na Palestina surgiu, com o Fatah controlando a Cisjordânia e o Hamas assumindo o controle da Faixa de Gaza. Isso resultou em dois governos palestinos com agendas e visões diferentes.
Sobre a escalada de violência, Muñoz analisa as ações recentes e ressalta que as narrativas conflitantes tornam difícil apontar um único responsável pelo início do conflito atual.
“O Hamas, considerado um grupo terrorista por alguns países, lançou ataques com foguetes contra Israel, alegando que a Faixa de Gaza sofre sob um bloqueio prolongado. Em resposta, Israel realizou bombardeios, mas a população civil está sofrendo em ambos os lados”, detalha.
O professor destaca a importância do apoio internacional nesse cenário, uma vez que Israel é apoiado pelos Estados Unidos e nações ocidentais, enquanto os palestinos contam apenas com o respaldo dos países árabes, embora haja divergências entre eles.
“O papel dos mediadores, será fundamental na busca de uma solução pacífica, como o Egito, talvez a Turquia, a Jordânia, a Arábia Saudita”, aponta o docente do CEUB.
Perspectiva Futura – Neste momento, a preocupação em Israel é a liderança do primeiro-ministro, Benjamin Netanyahu, que ocupa o cargo há muitos anos. Em 2022, uma coalizão de partidos foi formada na tentativa de tirá-lo do poder, mas ele retornou.
“O país tem sido palco de intensos debates, já que Netanyahu busca aprovar reformas que diminuiriam o poder da Suprema Corte de Israel. Isso levou a manifestações e questionamentos sobre a democracia em Israel, gerando uma divisão interna significativa”, frisa.
O docente de Relações Internacionais do CEUB ressalta que a população israelense tem uma perspectiva clara quando se trata de segurança, uma vez que Israel enfrentou várias invasões e guerras ao longo de sua história.
“Em momentos de conflito, os israelenses costumam se unir, deixando de lado suas diferenças políticas. Com a resposta aos ataques do Hamas, essas divisões internas de Israel podem ser temporariamente postas de lado”.
O resultado da guerra é incerto, mas é provável que a liderança de Netanyahu seja avaliada à luz das falhas de segurança que permitiram a invasão do Hamas no sul de Israel, indica Luciano Muñoz.
“A situação é dinâmica e o desfecho da guerra deve influenciar a posição de Netanyahu no cenário político israelense. Vamos observar os desdobramentos, o resultado da guerra e seus impactos na política interna de Israel serão fundamentais para o futuro da região”, arremata.
